Why Rebel Smell Exists

My name is Lynn, and I'm the owner of Rebel Smell. In 2021, I got covid, badly. I survived but not without some lasting effects, namely LHC (long haul covid) which caused many health issues. When working a traditional job became impossible due to my health, I needed to find something to do that was challenging but that wouldn't tax my body or mind too much. I decided creating wax melts was it! Good scents have always been important to me and they have the ability to lift my mood (my signature scent that I wear every day is cotton candy). Even as a kid, I enjoyed concocting things (think mixing together baby powder, shampoo, shaving cream and whatever else I could get my hands on in my parent's bathroom). Combine my love of concocting with my love of yummy smells and you get a wax melt creator. The brand name had to represent the fact that I'm Gen X...do I need to say more? The Rebel Smell logo was inspired by two of my dearest loves: my two mini schnauzers. My dearly departed Schatzi used to sniff the air when the weather was going to change and he was way more reliable than the weather man. When he crossed the rainbow bridge in April of '23 I was absolutely crushed, but one of my fondest memories is of him sniffing the air. My current dog Schroeder is my service dog, best friend, and my hero. He's literally saved my life, not once but twice. He's the bestest boy and the one in the Rebel Smell logo (although the pose is all Schatzi)! Because I've always had the heart of a punk rocker, I put a mohawk on the Rebel Smell dog, even though Schroeder doesn't have one in real life.
Future of Rebel Smell
What I hope to accomplish is to give people a chance to elevate their mood with great smells and also give them the opportunity to get exactly what they want by offering custom melts where you can choose the shape, color and scent. If this takes off, I have a lot of friends and family ready to jump in and help process orders and be makers with me. It's a lot of work to craft custom melts because I make them in very small batches to ensure the best scent throw and intensity but if you love what I do, I promise to grow it as quickly as the demand requires!
